Edinburgh University Exmoor Pony Trekking (Glendevon)
Dollar, Perth and Kinross
Edinburgh University Exmoor Pony Trekking is based at Glendevon near Dollar in Perth and Kinross, in the central belt of Scotland. The centre runs across country schooling and eventing activity, with teaching aimed at a wide range of riders. Lessons are available as both private and group sessions, and the team works with children as well as adults, providing an entry point for younger riders and Pony Club members. BHS Fellow and BHSI qualified instructor status are held on site, supporting structured coaching across the disciplines offered.
The yard caters to horse owners with a broad livery package. Grass, part and competition livery are all available, alongside a breeding programme, retraining of racehorses and horse sales. A breeding programme operates from the yard, and equine rehabilitation is offered as a dedicated service. Riders without their own horse can take advantage of the lesson programme and the hacking routes available on the property.
Facilities include an outdoor arena, a private riding track, show jumps and a lunge pen for schooling. Stabling is provided for liveries, with a horse walker and solarium supporting day to day care. An equine water treadmill and hay steaming are available, giving the centre the capacity to manage fitness work and feed preparation on site. Off road hacking directly from the yard is a notable feature, taking riders out onto the surrounding Glendevon countryside. Parking, plus toilet and shower facilities, are provided for clients.
Cross country schooling clinics run at the centre, making it a practical option for eventers looking to prepare for the season. The postcode for visitors is FK14 7JY, with the yard open from 07.30 to 17.00. Anyone interested in lessons, livery or clinics is advised to contact the centre directly to discuss availability and current arrangements.
