Colgrain Equestrian Centre

Colgrain Equestrian Centre sits in Cardross, just outside Dumbarton in Argyll and Bute, and is run by Fiona Spy, a BHSII qualified coach. The centre is family run and welcomes riders of all abilities, from complete beginners taking their first lessons to more experienced competitors looking to develop their skills in eventing and show jumping.

Coaching is offered across all standards, with the teaching programme designed to support novices through to riders preparing for competition. Group and individual lessons are available, and the centre also hosts clinics with visiting coaches, giving regular riders the chance to train with professionals beyond the resident team. The equestrian disciplines on offer are eventing and show jumping, reflecting the centre's focus on producing confident, well-rounded riders.

The facilities at Colgrain include outdoor arenas for schooling and jumping, a full set of jumps for practice, a horse walker, a solarium and a horse shower. There is also a tack room for storing equipment and trailer and lorry parking on site for those transporting horses to lessons or competitions. Beyond riding lessons, the centre provides a range of services including livery, clipping, trimming and exercise, making it a practical base for horse owners as well as a place to learn.

The centre is BHS approved, which gives riders confidence in the standard of coaching and horse care on offer. Colgrain Equestrain Centre is located at postcode G82 5HG, just a short drive from Dumbarton and well placed for riders travelling from across Argyll and the wider west of Scotland. Anyone interested in lessons, livery or upcoming clinics is encouraged to get in touch with the centre directly for current availability and pricing.
