Bentley Riding Centre operates from a licensed riding establishment in the Suffolk village of Bentley, near Cattawade. Lessons take place in a large floodlit indoor arena with spectator galleries, and riders can also take to the adjacent woodland trails for hacking. The centre keeps a set of scales on site and runs group, semi-private and private lessons across dressage, show jumping and general hacking.
The school teaches beginners and children, and several of its sessions are designed for younger or less experienced riders. Tiny Tots half hour lessons introduce the very young to ponies, and the centre operates as a Pony Club affiliated centre, supporting members through the Pony Club syllabus. Pony days run during school holidays, and home education sessions give children who do not attend mainstream school a regular slot in the weekly timetable.
Bentley Riding Centre is a member of the Riding for the Disabled Association and holds dedicated SEND lessons, including a Saturday SEND session. These run alongside the mainstream timetable and draw on the same indoor and outdoor facilities. The combination of a floodlit indoor arena and on-site woodland rides means sessions can usually go ahead regardless of the weather or time of year.
The centre is listed on the British Horse Society approved register and is licensed by Babergh District Council. It opens Tuesday to Sunday and is closed on Mondays, with phones answered between 9am and 5pm. Lessons start from GBP 25 for a Tiny Tots half hour session or a Saturday SEND session. Riders and parents can contact the centre directly by telephone during opening hours to book or to ask about suitability for a particular rider.
