Baylands Equestrian Centre is a family-run riding school based in Luton, offering a broad programme of lessons and equine activities for riders of all ages and abilities. Riders can choose between group and private sessions, with dedicated tiny-tots lessons for children aged three to six providing a gentle first introduction to ponies. Older beginners and more experienced riders are also catered for, with lessons covering dressage, show jumping, gymkhana games and road-safe hacking out from the centre.
The centre works to widen access to riding through its disabled riding sessions, supported by on-site facilities including a mechanical hoist and a ramp, making mounting accessible for riders who would otherwise find it difficult. Baylands is an approved Pony Club centre and hosts regular rallies, as well as school group visits, holiday activities and birthday parties. Work-based equine training is offered for those considering a career with horses, and stable management is taught alongside ridden work.
Facilities include a floodlit outdoor arena that allows lessons to continue into the evenings, free on-site parking and a stable block with easy access. The site is licensed for its activities and holds ABRS approval in addition to its Pony Club centre status, giving reassurance to parents and riders choosing where to learn.
Baylands Equestrian Centre is open on Thursdays and Fridays from 10am to 5pm, on Saturdays from 9am to 5pm and on Sundays from 9am to 4pm, with Mondays and Wednesdays set aside as closed days. Group lessons for the youngest riders start from GBP 35. Gift vouchers and open day events are available for those looking to try the centre before committing to regular lessons. The postcode is LU1 4LX.
